DaeWay Day is a Foundation-led Buddy Check experience created to reflect how Corporal Daegan Page lived his life. Loyal. Honest. Present. It is not a suggestion or a reminder. It is a day intentionally planned, organized, and funded by the Corporal Daegan Page Foundation to bring people together in meaningful ways.
These days are built around shared activities because Daegan understood that connection happens best when people are side by side, not face to face across a table.
What Is DaeWay Day?
A Buddy Check is a simple, important practice in the military community. It means checking in on someone, especially a fellow service member, friend, or teammate. It can be a call, a visit, or a moment to ask how someone is doing, and to really listen to the answer.
Buddy Checks are not about solving problems. They are about showing up. They create space for honesty and care, which can be life-changing and life-saving.
DaeWay Day builds on this idea by bringing people together through shared experiences. The goal is the same: stay connected, and remind each other that no one has to carry things alone.
What Is a Buddy Check?
Many people carry more than they share. Traditional check-ins do not always reach those who need connection most.
DaeWay Day removes barriers by creating a space where trust forms through shared experience. Movement creates comfort. Activity opens the door to honesty. Presence builds connection.
This is how Daegan showed up for others, and this is how his legacy lives on.
Why It Matters
For Donors: Why your support matters
Donor support makes DaeWay Day possible. Every contribution helps fund the activities, equipment, meals, and logistics that remove barriers for participants. Your generosity allows the Foundation to create spaces where connection happens naturally and Daegan’s legacy is carried forward through action, not words.
